For the last few years Oakhill has enjoyed sponsoring children from schools in the community to attend the Hospice Ballet dress rehearsal in the NG Church hall.

The sounds of the softly beaten drums by small hands slowly reached a crescendo and echoed down the school corridors of Rondevlei Primary. Suddenly the droning stopped and in the background, the shrieks of children scoring a soccer goal from the school field pierced the air.

On Wednesday, 20th April, Millwood students, Kathleen Stein, Carly Seager, Maricia Schempers, Nicole Bayes and Fern Wolf, along with Barbie and Ms le Fleur, went to deliver the ribbon tied Easter Egg packages, donated by Millwood students, to children of the Knysna Township.

Through the coordination and support of many Oakhill parents and staff members, we were able to share the joy of the Knysna Elephant Park with the 74 learners from Rondevlei Primary School in Sedgefield.

21 days before the FIFA World Cup 2010 Oakhill hosted a wonderfully successful ‘Futbal Festival’ on Friday 21st May. The weather was glorious and over 150 kids, including 70 children from neighbouring development schools in Rheenendal, Rondevlei, Ruigtevlei and a local Soup Kitchen joined in the fun.

On the 31st August, Yvette Meyer from “Garden Route Personnel and Executive Recruitment” came to Oakhill to interview the grade 10 Business Studies students.
