Pre-Prep Teacher (Grade 00)

A co-educational day school situated in the beautiful town of Knysna, on the Garden Route, seeks to appoint a vibrant, energetic Pre-Prep Teacher to join our Little Oaks’ team of remarkable quality. The school has an outstanding academic record; and also has a fine reputation in sport, music, art and drama.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Have a passion for nurturing and teaching young children
  • Be committed, dynamic, and self-motivated
  • Be creative at setting up discovery learning opportunities
  • Have a suitable qualification and a SACE Registration Certificate
  • Have excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess good organisational and administrative skills
  • Be skilled at facilitating learning with a diversity of learning needs
  • Work collaboratively within the respective department
  • Be available and willing to support functions when required
  • Have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be willing and able to partake in co-curricular activities
  • Be proficient in computer skills
  • Be innovative in the use of technology to enhance learning
  • Be able to teach a lesson as part of the interview process if required

The following competencies and knowledge will be an added advantage:

  • Grade 00 experience
  • The latest innovative approaches to teaching, thinking and learning
  • Reggio Emilia Approach, Curiosity Approach and Zones of Regulation

Foundation Phase Class Teacher

The following competencies will be advantageous:
