Last week’s College Inter-House Gala was a wonderfully festive event, with all houses showing great spirit and competitive fun in the pool and on the stands! With record participation, this year’s gala saw non-stop cheering from start to finish! The top swimmers swam with great determination and spirit for their houses, with a significant number of records broken. Top SA swimmer Aimee Canny broke an impressive three records: U17 Individual Medley – 1.06.40, U17 25m Butterfly – 0.13.21, U17 25m Breaststroke – 0.15.06; while her younger brother Mark broke the following records: U15 Individual Medley – 1.10.00 and U15 25m Backstroke – 0.15.40. Sophia Trollip also broke two records: Open 25m Backstroke – 0.16.69 and Open 25m Freestyle – 0.13.59, while Joshua Smith broke the boys Open 25m Freestyle with a time of 0.12.47. 2020 top honours went to Bendigo house, with second place going to Jubilee and third to Millwood. This year’s senior Victrix and Victor Ludorum was awarded to Aimee Canny and Joshua Smith for the second year in a row, while the Victrix and Victor Ludorum stayed in the Canny/Tanner family with Kate Tanner and Mark Canny taking the Junior honours.
