There has been great excitement in the Intermediate Phase art room as they open the kiln and see all their creative works inside. They have focused on working with clay while exploring different themes in each grade this term. The Grade 4s have created goblets fit for a king while studying King Arthur. Grade 5s had a look at Ancient Egypt and made scarab beetles with their names written in Hieroglyphics underneath. And, the Grade 6s focused their energy on Ancient South American civilizations and made a clay replica of an Omega head. The children all love the tactile feel of the clay and are always excited to see how the glaze reacts in the kiln.
