Waterpolo vs. York High

The first Waterpolo game of the season was against York High School. We went straight into the day confident, open minded and with great competence. But York had brought along tough competition and most of us were faced with a great challenge.

First in the pool were the under 15 girls and in the short thirty minutes of the game they came out with a victory of 24-3, to Oakhill. It was a brilliant game and set the standards high for the next three teams. The under 15 boys were up next and with great effort lost by one point with the score of 7-6 to York.

The first team girls were third in the line up to play, they went into the game very sure-footed, but York surprised them by playing a very good game of polo and in the first 4 minutes were up 4-0. The Oakhill girls realized this wasn’t going to be an easy game, so played with their best and ended up with a win of 15-8. Last in the pool were the first team boys who after a great challenge, and a lot of hard work won 9-7.

It was a great afternoon of Waterpolo and all four teams played exceptional games. We wish all Waterpolo players the best of luck for the upcoming tour to Cape Town.
We know you’ll do us proud!
