The making of eco-bricks has become a firmly entrenched habit here at Oakhill, and we always look forward to donating them and seeing the many useful items created! Recently, volunteers from Edge of Africa – a hands-on volunteer programme based in Knysna – sent us photos of the stools, bed and playhouse created for Eyethu Edu-Care.
The Grade 5 children also experienced the joy of giving first hand when they visited Bahia Formosa Primary School. The children heard that the school needed a television and decided to donate all their profits from Market Day sales to this worthy cause. The staff at the school were delighted with this gesture and the pupils had loads of fun!
