SURFING

Ross Taylor Surfing Contest at Buffalo Bay

u18 Junior Division

Greg Cuthbert: made the finals and finished at 3rd place.
Jake Owen: made it through to the semi- finals, he also did well to get through to the quarter- finals of the Open Division which had some of the top SA surfers surfing in it.

ARTS & CULTURE

National Youth Arts Festival

Iqraa Daniels achieved following results:

Silver for Oil painting.
Silver for Pop Art.
3 x Bronze for Acrylic painting.

GOLF

Independent Schools Golf Festival – played over 3 days on 3 courses:

Stableford Team Competition: Oakhill finished in 7th place with 221 points.
Overall Gross scores: Oakhill ended in 6th place with 828 points.
Day 1: Stephanie Perkins won the closest to the pin award.
Day 2: Mike Schultz won the longest drive award.

Well done to all the students that took part and all the staff that was there to organise and make sure the festival ran smoothly.

HOCKEY

1st XI Boys Cape Town Hockey Tour:

vs Paarl Roos Gimnasium
Lost 0 – 3
The score was locked at 0-0 with 5 minutes to play, with the experience of Paul Roos being the difference. It just felt like a proud moment lost.

Won 3 – 0
M.o.m: Jono van der Merwe

vs Pinelands
Lost 5 – 1
M.o.m: Jake Read

Besides the Hockey, the team was treated to a full tour of Vergelegen Wine Estate, went to watch Natal play Western Province at Newlands, experienced the world class Biscuit Mill Arts, Crafts and Food market, watched the Springboks practice prior to the “Four Nations” – Castle Rugby Championships, and were treated to some of the Olympic highlights at the Newlands Southern Sun hotel. This is what touring is all about!

Lastly thanks to the boys for their impeccable manners and all the staff that accompanied them.
