Oakhill proudly hosted the 4th Knysna Phendulani Quiz last week, welcoming 50 students from Fraaisig Primary, Sunridge Primary, Thembalitsha Primary, and Trinity schools. Before the quiz, participants enjoyed activities like chess, marimba playing, and art classes with the Oakhill pupils, fostering social interaction and connections.

Trinity emerged as the winners, with Thembalitsha in second place and Fraaisig in third. The quiz, initiated in 2008 by teacher Marj Brown, connects well-off schools with underprivileged ones, promoting literary competition and book access. Each school received 11 books prizes, sponsored by Exclusive and Bargain Books, forming the basis for quiz questions.

Congratulations to the winning teams and thanks to all participants. Oakhill looks forward to hosting this event again next year, acknowledging the efforts of coordinators Sue Buchalter who collaborated with Lyn Stocker from Hero.
