Oakhill wins regional Kids’ Lit Quiz

Oakhill wins regional Kids’ Lit Quiz

We were delighted to host our annual regional Kids’ Lit Quiz at Oakhill again on the 15th of February. Seven schools participated with twelve teams competing in a difficult, nail-biting competition. The knowledge these children have is daunting and the end results were very close, with Oakhill winning, Greenwood Bay School coming second and Plett Primary, third. We are always so grateful that our area is included in a competition of such a high calibre. It was developed by New Zealander, Wayne Mills who reads all current children’s books and creates the quiz himself. He travels around the world, fueling enthusiasm for reading through his quizzes. This year the National Competition is to be held in Johannesburg on the 24th February and the World Finals will be held in New Zealand in July. Our team of winners, Connie Chorley, Miguel Pieterse, Mia Guccio and Jemima Wilcox-Jones will be representing Oakhill in the National finals. We wish them luck and congratulations on being such bookworms!
