Thank you asking after Mikayla. It’s going really well.
They are in Newport Wales at the moment training on the indoor wooden track (as it is soooo much faster than the concrete tracks of SA). The team is doing well and training hard. They have a 3hr road session in the morning and then onto the track for 4hrs in the evening. In between, rest and studies. The town is treating them like the celebrities they are. On Saturday they travel to Glasgow Scotland where they will settle into their accommodation at the University and spend a bit of time on the track in preparation for racing that starts on the 7th Aug. Racing is from the 7th – 11th August.
The SA team has their own face book page – SA Junior Track Cycling Team 2013 where they are posting photos as and when they get time. There is also a face book page – 2013 UCI Juniors Track World Championships. On the Internet site Click on this link to read the article all the updates are posted and there will be live streaming on the days of the racing.
I have attached a couple of photos of Mikayla but the more official ones will come closer to race day as this is her training kit.
They arrive back in SA on 15 August.
