In celebration of Arbour week, our College ‘saplings’, the Grade 8s took some time out of their school day to plant 7 Sand Olive trees at the OSC. As they grow through their years at the College, we look forward to them watching the trees grow too! Great fun was had, and it was delightful to watch them getting their hands and feet dirty while making a meaningful contribution to the environment. Arbour Week is a national campaign initiated to celebrate South Africa’s trees and to raise awareness about their importance. ‘A man has made at least a start at discovering the true meaning of life when he plants trees under which he knows full well he will never sit’ – Elton Trueblood
