Oakhill College was alive with activity today during our experiential learning programme as students learnt practical skills useful in everyday life. Students fully immersed themselves across a wide range of “HOW TO” skills sets. They could choose to engage in their own bread making from original sourdough culture; table-setting and etiquette; setting their own ornament in resin; easy sweet-and-treat making; pottery making, baking and glazing; applying make-up to enhance their appearance; biodiversity guided hike through Pledge Park; mixing sound and music; English writing workshop; maintaining a car, changing a tyre and jump starting; as well as Bridge Building – how to design and build a bridge using premeasured dado-rails and glue (bridge-breaking will be held next term). How empowering to have acquired some forever-skills today!
