Interactors assist at Soup Kitchen

Upon launching our food garden, Oakhill’s Interact Club visited the recipients, the Caring Angels soup kitchen to get involved and gain a better understanding of the role that they play in their local Hornlee community. They serve fifty children between the aged of 3-17 years as well as the elderly at regular intervals during the week.

Every Interactor got involved by assisting with sanitising, organising the children into neat rows ready to be served their meals, as well as helped serve. It was a moving experience for our Oakhill students who were struck by the immense need in our community, deepening their understanding of citizenship and our personal responsibilities.
