Following their wonderful ink drawings of their chosen animal, our Grade 9 students explored the qualities of clay and created 3-Dimensional forms of their images. These tiles were then decorated with Manganese Oxides and painted with black underglaze and wiped back to enhance the texture. The results are amazing! Importance is given to the arts at Oakhill with Visual Art, Dramatic Art and Music offered to all pupils until Grade 9 with the option of these subjects as Matric subjects thereafter. These creative outputs highlight that with inspiring and skilled teaching all students can successfully explore their creative selves and experience the joy of art and expression
