The Grade 6s experienced a fun MasterChef cooking competition last week. This hands on and tasty learning experience drew from their knowledge on different food types and their energy (GI) content. Each person brought a certain food item on the day and they were then numbered. Three numbers were picked out of a hat and the teams were allocated those corresponding ingredients. Each team then had a limited time to prepare, cook, plate and present to the judge – the pressure was on to prepare the best meal. Well done teams on a fantastic ‘foodie’ event!
