Gene Viljoen at National Fishing Champs

Oakhill Grade 11 pupil, Gené Viljoen took part in the SALTBAA (SA Light Tackle Boat Angling Association) National fishing championship during the school holidays in Port Elizabeth. As part of the Eden U21 team and alongside her sister, Oakhill 2021 matriculant, Chanzelee Viljoen who captained the team, both Gené and Chanzelee perfomed very well and achieved personal best results.

As a team the Eden U21s finished 5th overall. Gené also improved her National rankings and now ranks as the 8th overall Junior LTB angler in South Africa! As one of the top 10 national anglers Gené may be considered for International competitions, which if selected and competes, Gené will achieve Protea colours in Angling!
