Our Grade 11 Life Science students paid a visit to the Forest Fresh Mushroom Farm, as an extension to their learning about microorganisms. The outing provided a fascinating insight into the world of Fungi, how they grow, their anatomy and what is needed in order to grow edible mushrooms.
The students got to see the entire process, from the making of good compost, and the microbial actions needed for this. They also observed the entire spawning process in the tunnels that leads to the final perfect mushroom product!
Thank you to Forest Fresh Mushroom Farm for hosting us and for the amazing gift which is our own small mushroom farm.
