Once again in Oakhill’s culture of curiosity, Careers Day 2021 provided a superb and unique opportunity for students to explore various interests, prospective careers and encouragement to pursue their dreams! College pupils thoroughly enjoyed a vibrant morning at Oakhill’s fifth annual Careers Day yesterday. Keynote speaker – expedition doctor, explorer and author – Dr Joan Louwrens kicked off the day encouraging students to “dream”, “realise that timing is never perfect”, “say yes more than you say no” and “find a point of wonder in all things”.
Students then had a plethora of choice of over 50 speakers and representatives from different tertiary institutions, who shared their own careers, passion, knowledge and expertise – from Aeronautical Engineering; to Conservation; Interior Design; Medical and Surgery; Law: Olive Farming; Pilates; Private Investigation; Social Media Marketing; Sound Engineering; Yachting and even the art of making coffee with a Barista – to name but a few! Thank you to all our guests who made this day such a success.
