Careers Day 2022 was once again a superb and unique opportunity for students to explore various interests, prospective careers and encourage them to pursue their dreams! In keeping with our culture of “the joy of learning”, College students and guests from Knysna Montessori, Percy Mdala, Concordia and Knysna High schools thoroughly enjoyed a vibrant morning at Oakhill’s seventh annual Careers Day yesterday. Keynote speaker, Rob Gilmour kicked-off the day by encouraging students to… to think like an entrepreneur, start a business while still in school, not to be scared to fail, to put themselves out there and to work hard at what they do. Students then had a plethora of choice selecting from 40 speakers and representatives across various career fields who shared their own journeys, passion, knowledge and expertise ranging from – Aeronautical Engineering; to Conservation; Film; Geology; Interior Design; K9 Explosive Dog Training; Microbiology; Psychology; Surgery; Law; Sound Engineering; Sports Coaching; Telecommunication and even the art of making a great coffee with a Barista – to name but a few! The world of work and continued learning is an exciting one!
