Dancing to the top

Two of our Prep pupils, Madison Starkey and Celyn Godfrey, who dance with Carmen’s School of Dance, recently took part in the NATIONAL MOVE! DANCE COMPETITION. Thousands of girls entered the competition from all over the country, in online format due to social distancing rules.

We are thrilled to announce that both Madison and Celyn placed in the top three overall for all six dances they submitted. Well done girls!

1. 10 & Under Ballet Demi-Character Solo Section

  • Madison received a Gold Award (90.7%) and placed 1st Overall in the Gold Section (no. 1 in the country)
  • Celyn received a Silver Award (88.5%) and placed 1st Overall in the Silver Section

2. 10 & Under Ballet Classical Solo Section

  • Celyn received a Gold Award (94%) and came 3rd in the Overall Gold Section (no. 3 in the country)
  • Madison received a Silver Award (85%) and came 1st in the Overall Silver Section

3. 10 & Under National Solo Section

  • Celyn received a Gold Award (94%) and placed 1st Overall in the Gold Section (no.1 in the country)
  • Madison received a Gold Award (92%) and placed 2nd Overall in the Gold Section (no. 2 in the country)
  • Madison also received a “Wild About You 12 & Under” gold medal award for her performance of Sailor’s Hornpipe (her Demi-Character dance).
