6 ORIGINAL PLAYS – EXTRAORDINARY CULTURAL COLLABORATION

Last week, over a mere 36-hours the Oakhill School Hall transformed into a vibrant creative studio for this year’s 36 Hour Drama Festival – an annual tradition that involves every College student!

Students stepped up across our three Houses – Millwood, Jubilee, and Bendigo – bringing original productions to life through script writing, acting, set design, makeup and technical crew work. Each house in each phase – Junior and Senior – put on their own unique play.

This year’s theme was “Animals” complete with fun wildcard challenges:

Juniors: Incorporated a fresh pineapple

Seniors: Creatively featured a camping chair

Each cast had to invite a staff member to join the stage (featuring standout turns as a sloth and a white tiger!)

Beyond the House competition, the festival celebrated mentorship, shared talents, and quick problem-solving. In just two days, raw ideas and an empty stage space became six fully realized theatrical worlds.

Congratulations to all our enthusiastic students – especially the winners of each category, and our brave staff too, for an unforgettable showcase of creativity and teamwork.
