Closing off a Month of Chukka

Closing off a Month of Chukka

Launched in 2011, this was our 11th Oakhill Waterfront Chukka Festival for primary and high schools. Well-known as the unique open-water water polo festival hosted by Oakhill School in the Knysna estuary, this action-packed event once again attracted schools from all over South Africa!

As a festival and not a tournament, players got the opportunity to hone and test their skills against opponents in a friendly, fun, yet competitive manner. The focus and philosophy of the event continues to be each team and player improving, growing and having an all-round positive sporting experience.

With over 1350 players participating, we have certainly seen an abundance of water polo action! The up-sized U19 festival had 150 games alone in one weekend across the three pools. We hope to see the U13 and U15s return in years to come as they age up into the next festivals.

Our sincere thanks to everyone involved for making this month of Oakhill Waterfront Chukka Festivals such a success – coaches, players, organisers, parents, supporters and our sponsors. We look forward to welcoming you all back again next year!
