Chess with Concordia’s Future Stars

Chess with Concordia’s Future Stars

Yesterday Oakhill’s Grade 7s life orientation class enjoyed an outing to the Concordia Mission School in Bokmakierie Street where they joined their students to play some chess.  Oakhill responded to an appeal to the community to sponsor chess sets for their budding chess players, aged 10-12 years who call themselves the “Future Stars” of chess. Oakhill’s MySchool funds were used to purchase these competition chess sets and the Grade 7s girls sewed colourful storage bags in their life orientation class.  They handed over ten chess sets and enjoyed a few challenging games by these Future Stars whilst thoroughly enjoying their company.
