During the holidays our 1st hockey teams participated in the Cape Town International Hockey tournament. This tournament draws schools from around the country, as well as from the UK and Nambia.
The boys played 7 matches, winning 3, losing 3 and drawing one, with Rick Matter as Oakhill’s player of the tournament. The girls also played 7 matches, winning 6, and narrowly losing 1 – 2 in the promotion finals. Charné de Wet was Oakhill’s player of the tournament, scoring 15 goals in 7 games.
This tournament is a great way for our pupils to gain exposure to teams they would otherwise never get the chance to play against. Well done to all players, and especially the girls who won silver in their category!
