NSRI Ben and Caroline lowresEvery year, the NSRI (National Sea Rescue Institute) in Knysna selects two matriculants as junior crew members. With guidance and supervision from the Station Commander, Jerome Simonis, and the NSRI crew, these junior crew members undergo training and then part-take in most activities at this busy NSRI station throughout their Matric year.

Ben Giliomee and Caroline Pichler have been selected to join the NSRI during 2015 as junior crew.

Their services are entirely voluntary and the hours spent at the NSRI will count towards very important community service hours.
