Three Little Pigs Cooperative Steam Challenge
The Foundation Phase theme this term is “Fairytales, Folks Tales and Fables” and they have been analysing each story according to the setting, character traits and solutions to problems amongst other things.
Yesterday, our Grade 1s were architects, builders, designers, planners, constructors and makers as they explored their creative and life skills in their extension and enrichment project. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) skills were used in this fun and hands-on activity as they worked as a group to create a house either out of straw, sticks or bricks for one of the 3 Little Pigs. The Grade 1s then used their fabric to design and create an outfit for their little pig to wear.
How inspiring to see these young creators rising to their cooperative STEAM challenge with such gusto!
