The Grade 4K class decided to redesign the cover of ‘The Sheep-Pig’ by Dick King Smith. The challenge was to design a cover that they would have liked to see on the book.
Cabe Upton chose to write an alternate ending to the original story and produced a wonderful front cover to accompany it.
I know the saying goes, “You can’t judge a book by its cover,” but I’m sure after seeing these, that everyone will want to see what ‘The Sheep-Pig’ is all about.
The Grade 4’s also did some research on three endangered species that are local to Knynsa – the Knysna Dwarf Chameleon, the Knysna Elephant and the Knysna Seahorse.
The criteria was set and thorough research was required to complete the project – classification, habitat, reproduction and reasons for being endangered were among the topics that they had to focus on.
I am very proud of the mature approach and personal responsibility that the Grade 4’s showed in producing some stunning posters. WELL DONE Grade 4’s!
