Tessa Collins, Participation at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2012

The Drums and Pipes of The Cape Town Highlanders have once again been invited to perform at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. This will be the bands’ sixth appearance at the Tattoo since 2000. The event coincides with the world famous Edinburgh Festival and is a world premiere event, playing live to over 240,000 people throughout the duration of the show. The show is also televised and reaches millions of viewers worldwide. To be an invited participating member of the cast is considered an honour and a privilege, particularly in the pipe band world.

Tessa Collins is an accomplished side drummer and an active member of the Knysna Pipe Band. With this in mind, The Drums and Pipes have extended an invitation to Tessa to participate at this years’ Tattoo as part of their student exposure programme. Tessa will have the “once in a lifetime” opportunity to perform on a “world stage”.

Tessa will be travelling abroad during the month of August. We congratulate Tessa on her achievement and wish her all the best during this wonderful time in her life.
