Star awards are given to children to recognise and show appreciation for outstanding work, progress, persistence, considerate gestures, good manners and endeavour to mention just a few of the noteworthy achievements. The ‘posting’ of the star awards at the main reception is a source of great pride for the individuals concerned. The fact that the acknowledgement is accompanied by a small treat does not go unnoticed by the children. Star awards are tallied every week and house points are allocated accordingly. The announcement of the leading house each week is highly anticipated and very competitive. These house points also represent a significant portion of the points collected towards the House Cup at the end of the year.
