Science Club

Oakhill has further embraced the joy of learning by adding a fun and brilliant way of learning Science. The Science departments in both schools have joined forces to establish a Science Club. Members meet with Science teachers, Andrew Meintjes and Rodney Anderson every alternate Friday. On Friday last week we enjoyed an exploration into water power cars, or perhaps a better term would be, hydro cars. It was an exciting experience with different models appearing to race: a tank, an antique car, a motorbike and a “rocket” car. The race to build and out-speed one anothers cars was on! As we took to the start line and waited for the “ready, steady, go”, it was the rocket car that had what was needed – sheer hydro pressure rather than a cog gear system. Occam’s razor took effect!
