The Oakhill swimming team left after school on the bus and drove down town to the Knysna Primary swimming pool for an inter-schools’ gala on Monday afternoon. Thank goodness it was a cloudy day, because when we weren’t swimming we had to sit on the grandstands until about 5.30pm.
Oakhill spirit was high and we were the only school singing. But, there was a lot of other noise going on too. Part of the noise was near the end of each race, it would get louder and louder as all the swimmers got closer to the wall.
What makes Oakhill a winner is that the team never gives up, we keep on keeping on and everybody supports each other. Especially our teachers, thanks, all in all it was a great day. And thank you Knysna Primary for hosting us.
