The Reading Games were introduced last year as an incentive to encourage children to read books which they wouldn’t normally read, or merely to encourage the reluctant reader. The participants are quizzed on their knowledge of the selected novel. Well done to the following children who walked away with gift vouchers from Bargain Books as winners in their grade: Jessica Edkins in Grade 4 for reading ‘The Butterfly Lion’ by Michael Morpurgo, Erin Payton in Grade 5 for reading ‘Charlotte’s Web’ by E.B.White and Caitlin MacCall in Grade 6 for reading ‘The Secret Garden’ by Francis Hodgson Burnett.
