Prep Inter-House Hockey & Netball

Last week saw the clash of the inter-house titans. Who would win, Millwood, Jubilee or Bendigo? We had an incredible mix of colours, players and cheers … always a fantastic way to end off the winter sporting season.
The battle began with our inter-house hockey event at the OSC, with the afternoon’s events divided into a Junior and Senior Section.  The Junior section, which was made up of U9s and U10s, kicked off first with 6-a-side mixed boys and girls teams. The Juniors put on quite a show and played outstanding hockey. The Seniors followed, where the U11s are included every year as they will be U12 the following year. This is very exciting for them as they now are part of the “big” children and always relish the chance of showing their stuff. Like the Juniors, the Seniors also played in mixed boys and girls teams, but they played 8-a-side. Everyone was in high spirits and even those on the side waiting their turn to play enjoyed being able to shout for their houses. Well done to Ms Korsten and Mr Mart for arranging such a fun event which was enjoyed by pupils, staff and parents alike. Congratulations to our winners Millwood for winning the clash of the hockey titans.
A day later we had our annual inter-house netball event which was arranged by Mrs Koekemoer and Mrs Beukes, and once again we had shrieks of laughter, cheering and good old fashioned competition. Well done to our winners Jubilee on winning the clash of the netball titans, with Millwood and Bendigo. Although these are inter-house competitions, the real winners are always the hockey and netball. The quality played and the sportsmanship was wonderful to see.
