Oakhill Waterfront Chukka Festival 2025

Dear Oakhill Families and Festival Guests,

Oakhill is once again thrilled to be hosting the exciting Oakhill Waterfront Chukka Festivals welcoming water polo players from a wide range of schools across South Africa over the month of February.

The Oakhill Waterfront Chukka Festivals span both the Prep and College, with separate weekends for U13, U15 and U19 water polo players, having a wide appeal attracting thousands of visitors to Knysna annually. The continued support from the Waterfront Knysna Quays and local businesses is overwhelming and together with sponsors RSAWEB we are able to give festival participants and spectators a truly magnificent and immersive ‘Knysna’ experience. Over the past 13 years these Festivals have become an integral part of our school, not only to grow the game of water polo, but also to expose our beautiful town and everything it has to offer to the festival visitors.

Similar to last year, we welcome over 1200 players to Knysna and due to high demand and interest will include a third water polo pool again in the Waterfront Knysna Quays for the U19 festival.

The Oakhill Waterfront Chukka Festival is always great fun and has a significant festival atmosphere around the pools. We encourage you to come and experience it first-hand. For the many who are fortunate to be in Knysna in person, we look forward to seeing your familiar faces as well as welcoming some new schools, parents, players and spectators to this very special event.

Oakhill is pleased to partner with the It’sHappening App to bring you all the details on fixtures, teams and scores so that you can keep track of an exciting weekend of water polo. Other than keeping us connected, sponsors RSAWEB will be offering some wonderful opportunities to interact and also win prizes. Please use the links to follow to be part of our online community, whether planning and monitoring fixtures on IH App or connecting to the RSAWEB community. The festival wont be covered live this year, however photos will be on our social media platform.

The format will remain a festival and the focus of the event will continue to be about each team and player improving, growing and having an all-round positive sporting experience.

We are most grateful to all participants and supporters of our past festivals for more than a decade. We continue to receive many compliments and notices of gratitude from visiting schools. As part of our ongoing reflection on the festivals, we look forward to hearing your own feedback and we appreciate your excitement about this year’s 2025 Oakhill Waterfront Chukka Festival event. We kindly ask that you support all the events from the respective age groups (U13’s, U19’s & 15’s) with sincere encouragement.
