On Friday 30 May, Little Oaks honored South Africa by celebrating our beautiful country during a morning filled with traditional activities. The festivities started off with singing our National Anthem and other songs in different official languages. This was followed by dancing to an array of South African music and the much anticipated arrival of John, from our grounds staff, to teach us how to do gum-boot dancing. A traditional food picnic from different South African cultures was enjoyed, with milktart and biltong being the firm favourites! After this wonderful feast the children took turns in joining the tug-o-war games to work off their energy, much to the amusement and cheering on of their friends. The general consensus from the children at the end of this exciting day was that South Africa is the best!
