Our Grade 6s and 7s had hands on experience in our Food Garden last week. Insights and knowledge was shared by Sue Torrence, from Growing Upwards, on why and how the garden was planted and what to expect from all the budding vegetables. The Grade 7’s also had time to plant some of their own vegetable seeds, which they will take care of in order to replenish the vegetables once the first ones have been harvested for the soup kitchen in Hornlee. It’s wonderful to be growing our knowledge and also putting it to practice as individuals towards our collective citizenship.
