The Kids’ Lit Quiz is a world wide competition which caters to bookworms under the age of fourteen. Oakhill has been hosting the regional heat for many years, and we were delighted to, once again, host this exciting event last Friday.
Twelve teams of children from schools around the Garden Route battled their wits against each other answering the tough questions developed by Wayne Mills, the Kids’ Lit Quiz Master in New Zealand.
Oakhill School has won this regional competition for the past 4 events, but this year it was won by a team from Greenwood Bay College. We congratulate them and wish them the best of luck for the finals in Johannesburg this weekend.
Oakhill team members were: Arthur Seddon, Roddy Barker, Gareth Steenkamp and Josh Reynolds (fourth place overall) and Harry Thompson, Liam Nurse, Julien Cotzee and Jake Wood.
It was a privilege to witness the knowledge of all the children who obviously benefitted by continuing to escape into books during lockdown!
