Oakhill College students were joined by local high schools – York High School, Percy Mdala, Concordia High School and Knysna Montessori School – for the inter-schools public speaking competition last Thursday 14 April. Students pleased adjudicators with a high standard of speeches and interpretation of their topics. Congratulations to the many Oakhill teams that were awarded places. Grade 8 – Oakhill came second (Alexa Shutte, Emily Carver, Hannah Verrier); Grade 9 – Oakhill came second (David van Heerden, Anton Schnetler, Connor Labuschagne); Grade 10 – Oakhill won (Courtney Austin, Ntokozo Rwapuluza, Annie-Rose Thomson, Veda Vosloo) and came third (Michaela Vogt, Leila Turner, Kelly Dawkins, Jean Pretorius) and Grade 11 & 12 – Oakhill came second (Julia Lambrecht, Anna Reid and Rebekah Utain).
