Oakhill was pleased to host the first Phendulani Quiz in our area on Friday 19 October.
This quiz is the brainchild of Marj Brown who came from Johannesburg to quiz the participants on the nine books they were given to read earlier this year. Children from Chris Nissen, Fraaisig and Sunridge School participated and each child left with a book of their own. The team from Sunridge School, under the guidance of Carmen Gezza, were the overall winners with one of the Chris Nissen teams coming second.
We are excited for next year when more schools will participate in this wonderful quiz which is aimed at promoting literacy in schools.
