Today, marks the fifth anniversary since the Knysna Fires of 2017. Oakhill’s annual Green Day, reminds our community of what we have managed to overcome together. With deep appreciation we celebrate the renewal of our school, our town and our environment. As inscribed in our commemoration garden at the entrance of our school “From the onset, compassion was the silver lining around this dark hanging over us, a sure sign we would make it through together”. Throughout the school, pupils dressed in green and were involved in activities and discussions, reinforcing the importance of the Earth, caring for our environment and our commitment to “greener” habits. With this ongoing quest for renewal, regrowth and recommitment to our environment, we express our gratitude on Green Day.
