Gratitude on Green Day

Today, Oakhill celebrates Green Day, an annual remembrance that commemorates the Knysna Fires of 2017, reminding us of what we have managed to overcome and renewing our quest for “greener” habits. Through discussions and activities, both on campus with Grade 7s and online at home, our pupils focused on renewal, regrowth and recommitting themselves to caring for and appreciating the environment.

Climate change tops the list of vital challenges of our time, say young people interviewed by Amnesty International. More and more young people around the world are determined to save the planet, and many are taking action. At school, from Little Oaks through to Grade 12, we continually reinforce the urgency to care for our environment and to each do our bit to make a difference.
