Featherbed Eco Excursion

Featherbed Eco Excursion

A delightful and educational day was had by our Grade 6 pupils on their Featherbed Eco Excursion on Friday. The day was filled with many activities – from crossing the lagoon, to a trip up the Western Heads – all of which filled the pupils with awe as they gazed down onto the lagoon and out through the Heads back towards the Outeniquas. After the devastation of the Knysna Fire 5 years ago which were commemorated last week, pupils were grateful for the privilege to shoot off a kettie containing a seed bomb to help with further regrowth of the fynbos. Many lessons where learnt on their lovely walk including many details of the history, biology and geography of Knysna. “We are more appreciative of our beautiful environment and how lucky we are to live here” some pupils remarked at the end of the day.
