Great excitement is mounting for our annual fundraising event Takkies and Turf taking place at the OSC from 1pm  on Friday 9 September.

Some information regarding the afternoon:

HOCKEY

Once again we’ve had fantastic interest in the hockey and we have almost 150 players.  The event will start with matches at 1.30pm as per the teams allocated.  Children who are playing hockey will be excused from school earlier.  Buses have been made available for hockey players needing transport to the OSC.  All hockey players will receive a direct email from Terri Pautz about team arrangements.  Please see hockey team lists and fixture times below and dress in your team colour as it makes it easier for your team mates.  There will also be colour bands available for each hockey player which must be collected at the OSC on Friday before the matches start.  Please get your kids or self to OSC in time for the games to start.

The finals of the hockey will both be played at 5pm on the Astro and there will be a small prize for each winning team.

FOOD AND DRINKS

During the afternoon Jenny from Under the Oaks will have a coffee shop available, look out for the cute VW Van, Miss Molly kindly offered by Belinda Boyd, for coffees, teas and lovely treats.  The supporters club will be selling boerewors rolls and the tuckshop will also be open selling chocolates, sweets and cooldrinks in aid of the Matric Dance fund.

There will be no alcohol for sale at the clubhouse PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN for the evening function.  Only cooldrinks and water will be for sale.

NIGHT COLOUR RUN

After the hockey you have time to get ready for the colour run which will start at 6.30pm.    We will be starting the event in batches as this also has proven to be a hugely popular event at nearly 400 entrants.  Collect your colour run band at the Registration table at the OSC.  Be sure that you’ve stocked up on some lumo goodies for sale also by the Matric Dance committee and get your face painted in special luminous paints.  The colour run will have 4 colour stations.  Please bring your own headlight or torch and dress in a light coloured t-shirt that you don’t mind getting really colourful!

MORE FUN

After the colour run the Supporters Club will be serving Burgers and Tony Cook has generously offered to entertain us with music.  Have a look out for the UV lights which will make your colours glow!  Thanks to Penny Foyn for helping us out with the photography in the evening.

Please bring cash as all stalls work on a cash basis.

Looking forward to a great afternoon and evening of fun and entertainment!
