Oakhill is delighted to have Carmen in concert again. As an Old Oak, having matriculated in 2014, Oakhill is exceptionally proud of her music career and international exposure.
It could be said that Carmen was born with an immense love of singing and performing. Starting out as most kids do, she was a contemporary solo artist singing her way in far and wide places – the East Rand of Johannesburg and the glorious Garden Route of the Western Cape. At the tender age of 17 she discovered a passion for classical singing and began her training as such. Carmen was a chorus member for the Gauteng Opera Company, having performed in their productions L’elixir D’Amore and La Boheme. Carmen completed her BMus at the University of Witwatersrand in 2019 and is currently working towards her Masters in Opera at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn in Leipzig, Germany.
