Three dancers Hannah Micklewood, Dina du Plessis and Josie Trollip participated in the Cape Town Dance Eisteddfod this month with their respective ballet teachers and did themselves, their studios and Oakhill very proud. Hannah Micklewood in Grade 9, a dancer training with Sidwell Roman won her age category in Classical, Open and Demi-Character and achieved the best performance of the Eisteddfod for the Open category and Demi-Character. Hannah and her dance teacher choreographed this award winning snake dance together. Grade 6 dancers Dina du Plessis and Josie Trollip, with dance teacher Carmen De Sousa won their Demi-Character duet with the entertaining ‘Puppet on a String’ and also made the finals for both their Classical and Demi-Character solos. Some of these dances were also performed amongst the selection of other award winning dances by Oakhill dancers in Mosaic – The Oakhill Dance Team’s Showcase.
