This week’s Prep assembly was hosted by the Grade 5H pupils and the focus of their presentation was the value of kindness. The pupils performed three scenes to the audience, displaying some school-related scenarios where children could be mean to one another. They engaged with the audience, calling for suggestions of ways in which pupils can rather be kind to each other in these situations.
The answers from our audience displayed empathy, great care and consideration for one another. We were honoured to be joined by our Grade 5 parents and family members for this assembly, which made it even more special for our pupils.
Character development and a strong foundation in values-based education is an integral part of discussions in the classroom and beyond at Oakhill. This enactment of “Kindness” further reinforced these discussions.
