Our “Amazing Animal Olympics” were undertaken in a non-competitive spirit of fun and co-operation last Friday. Each child in Grades R, 1, 2 and 3 took part and all were rewarded for their participation in the events. The 10 teams were the Champion Cheetahs, Leaping Leopards, Excellent Elephants, Fantastic Flamingos, Super Springboks, Brave Bears, Lucky Lions, Racing Rhinos, Kicking Kangaroos and the Terrific Tigers.
The children pledged their Olympic Oath and then proceeded to take part in Leo Lion’s Long Jump, Harry Hippo’s Hurdles, Kenny Kangaroo’s High Jump, Ronny Rhino’s Relay Race and Olly Ostrich’s Tug-of-War.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we were thrilled to have so many parents offering their encouragement and cheering our little Olympians on.
